Safety is part of Afrikchat's foundation. Because Afrikchat includes user-generated content, members must have clear ways to protect themselves, report abuse, and understand how moderation works.
Reporting content and accounts
Members can report posts, comments, profiles, pages, groups, messages, or other content that may violate our Terms or Community Guidelines. When submitting a report, include the reason and any helpful context.
Blocking and privacy controls
Members can use available blocking, privacy, and notification controls to reduce unwanted contact and manage who can interact with them. Blocking may limit a person's ability to view, message, or interact with you, depending on the feature.
How moderation works
Reports may be reviewed by administrators, moderators, automated tools, or trusted service providers. We consider context, severity, member history, legal obligations, platform safety, and whether the content violates our rules.
Urgent safety issues
If someone is in immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services first. Afrikchat is not an emergency response service. After contacting the appropriate authorities, you may also report the related content or account to us.
What happens after a report
We may remove content, reduce distribution, warn the member, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve records, or report unlawful material to authorities where appropriate. We may not always share the outcome of a report for privacy and security reasons.
Appeals
If you believe your content or account was restricted by mistake, contact us with the account, content, and reason for review. Appeals do not guarantee reversal, but they help us correct mistakes.
For mobile app review
Afrikchat is committed to maintaining tools and policies for objectionable content, member reporting, account blocking, moderation review, and action against abusive users. These protections support a safer experience across the web, Android, and iOS apps.
